July Cover

The photo on the cover on the July-issue shows various protists and relates to the paper "Dendritic network structure and dispersal affect temporal dynamics of diversity and species persistence" by Mathew Seymore et al. 

"Different species commonly used in protist microcosm experiments, including Blepharisma sp., Colpidium sp., and Euglena gracilis (species range in size from about 40 µm to 400 µm). These species are all competing for the same resources and were used in an experiment by Seymour et al. in this issue. Images by Regula Illi and Florian Altermatt."
